The Rat's Rant

How can we not be loosing when the terrorist keep dictating which way we should live?

Ahh!. Before you board that plane, don't forget to puke, piss and break a sweat, as you may not want to be detained by TSA or the SMs.

Call me a radical or unpatriotic, if you must, but here it goes.
If they were able to subdue Spain by bombing, aren't they subduing us in many ways by creating a little chaos here, a little chaos there?
How far are these airport situations will continue to go?
Are we really any safer?
Should I change careers and start selling civilian MREs at an airport stand?

We are so great at talking sports, such as football strategy and basketball speed. But we fail to see what these opponents's team will play next. We may as well play baseball with them and see what happens. That is all we are doing here. Playing baseball, think about it.

Every ninth inning we will keep losing this game if we don’t switch to one that we can win.
The borders still wide open, so are the oceans, the sky, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Tractor Supply and many more.

What is the purpose of the Parrot Act if it fails to deliver results?
I am wearing the tin foil suit right now.

How could we possibly be beaten at the very same games that we invented ourselves.

Deception, arms trafficking, torture, assassinations, freedom fighters, paramilitary death squads and right out bullying intimidation.
Then we continue to crumble away like Rome by trying to make everyone happy. These things I ponder on, while my noise canceling headphones are not canceling that much.
How does Israel deal with terrorism? Aggressively. Do they continue to be targets? Yes.
Well, I am done. For now. I will feel better 23 hours after being 30,000 ft. in the air.

Dear Q-
My daughter- nearly 11...pretty- smart, funny- a lover of people (where does she get it?:) is being targeted at school.
Not in a way that frightens her- but in a way that hurts her. Some other girls said she was ugly...and a geek~ and lied about her character.

Her tender spot is her heart- and it is her greatest asset.

I think, in the USA, our sense of security and our drive as a people is our greatest asset. We, as a people and a nation, have been fearless-
No, I am wrong, US citizens have been COURAGEOUS- which is about having fear and pressing on anyway.
We must remain so-

Are we really subdued by extra security measures? Aren't the long lines at the airport a sign that Americans will keep on going where they want, and doing what they please?
The fact that the airports are NOT empty is proof that we are not afraid...

It makes me terribly sad to think of the airports having no passengers.
I can't even imagine it.

I was afraid on 9-11.
I felt, for a while, like the world was falling apart.
But we don't have bombers flying over our homes- or gunfire in the streets.

Israel and Lebanon we are not.

I hope you arrived safely at your destination...I hope you felt better by the time your head was on your pillow.
You are admired by so many that I admire- and I hope you know I said nothing above with any feelings other than respect for you.
Today, as I drove to the beach, I wondered if I could get a job driving people up and down the east coast- I like driving...but somehow I just don't think that many people will give up flying.

And anyway...it is possible that being in the plane might be safer than riding in a car with me! :)

Q Man, I agree with you. We may just be going about this thing the wrong way.

We play by their rules when we seem to only respond to their actions. I am reminded of some rule of physics about opposite and equal reactions.

We seem to ignore the obvious, which is what motivates the terrorists in the first place.

I have not looked too far, but I have not seen anything in the national or local media concerning the many similarities among the three major religions (my bias) Judaism, Islam and Chrisitianity. Until we can get together based upon our similarities the religious fundamentalists will continue to control the battle.

I liked your sports analogy. I think you have something there. I have another thought that may be too far fetched. What would happen if we got a bunch of young, video-gamers to come up with ideas to put the opponents tail in a ringer? I suspect we might be able to stay ahead of the terrorists until we can get the majority on board regardless of their religious beliefs.

Just some random thoughts. Be careful in electrical storms while wearing your tin foil suit. lol Keep the friendly skies friendly.

Q, sugar pie, Aunty Belle is on yore page! I does think Mayden is right in some respects--we is still at the airports--but yore MRE sales idea is a winner--sadly so.

Looky, one thang that complicates this whole matter is that this is a war against an ideology wifout borders or diplomats--whar' no county and its leaders can be dealt wif in a starightforward manner.

HOWever, yer plan fer more aggressive tactics hits mah ear jes' right. We'uns all knows that we can solve this "war on terror" real quick like if we take off the gloves.

Q, yer best line: "Then we continue to crumble away like Rome by trying to make everyone happy. "

Yep--tha's it darlin', that is our trouble. We want our cake an eatit too! --we wanna win the war on terror and still "feel good about ourselves." Ain't happening. Winning any war is not about feeling good but about surviving.

The enemy sees us a weak and feckless-we wanna be sure no group or nuthouse gang is offended, meanwhile the enemy knows this an' plays to it. Lawdy mercy.

Take care of yoreself, chile.

i am a digger and i am digging in

perhaps i will be fortunate enough to catch a fish before the ionics fall on my wide rottie head or take down a tender hind with freya......squeeze out what i can while i can with an appreciation of every tick of the tock

Mayden, thanks for your visit and kind words. Heart will carry us until the end, but it may be a short end if we can't use what's between our ears. I think that the long lines at the airports are another way of terrorism, the one that we have been victims of for the last two decades, misinformation, fear through calculated media control and our addictive consumerism. Can't disagree with you that we do want to go places, and it should be that we use the available medium of transportation as a convenience that we pay for, but when inconveniences begin to outweigh our hard earn dollars, we have a problem. Yes we are COURAGEOUS, some of us remain. That is another area where we have lots of work to do, the last two decades have seen a decline on what being an U.S. Citizen really means, we are hurting ourselves more and more with the excess of freedom and not knowing what the foundation of this freedom was and still is. I appreciate you coming by and caring to comment on this twisted place of mine.

Jack, yes that is exactly it, reaction, we keep over-using it and it cost more dollars every time. As someone I work with said, they are dictating how we live by impacting our economy cleverly. Is it not true that things have changed since September 11 2001? Not only I am older but also, there are several changes that have trickled down to our pockets.
If they keep punching the money bag through mass murdering of innocent people, wouldn't that cause us to change our way of living to accommodate their agendas?
It is in fact starting to look like our economy is the bottom line target, because once we are broke down by trying to cover every war and trying to help every nation that comes back and hate us in return, we are subduing to terrorism. A harsh approach is sadly the only treatment I see. Not a cure.

Aunty, the enemy is among us. Just like not everyone understood why we joined against Germany, but had no problem when it came to Japan or Korea, the enemy is the wave of people that we allowed to come into this nation where their right to hate continues to not only thrive but now they can practice it through lawmaking and politics, we shake their hands everyday at the pump, we vote for them, they are classmates on our schools and I just hope that a president that has more balls comes to take over to put an end to this madness before Christmas celebration is banned.

K9, that is what we are. I am part of it since the minute that I rose my right hand, three times now. 1993 was the year I stepped on this land. Before that, well, there was Ollie, Hasenfus, Reagan, the USSR, Castro, Marx, Lenin and other figures that I played with as a child. Please, if one day I disagree with the government (myself) or burn this nations flag, without having served this country (which is everyone's job in some way or another), I should be kicked out of here, kicked literally.
But some people will remain drawing welfare and complaining about how bad they got it.

I do feel better now Mayden. I am so thankfull that I can write this and still breathe freedom.

i am confused - all these words and they skate about and are actually quite vague and general.

banning christmas?

consummerism?

courage and bravery?

we vote for the enemy?

what is everyone babbling about here?

have i totally lost it? i cannot tell if i agree or disagree with comments - eveyrthing seems nonspecific and illusory.

price to pay for the inconvenience of travel? monetary or ...?

why does a RT ticket from the US to Thailand cost more than a RT ticket from Thailand to US?

Thai airports have MORE security than US and the lines move faster. i was not even inconvenienced though i must say, spending 14 hours with a plane full of people who have not brushed their teeth is not the most pleasant experience - but so irrelevant to the purpose of travel and adventure. who cares? security took my water bottle away, but the stewards continually circulated the cabin with water, juice, tea, etc. wonder if US airlines were as accomodating...

what is meant by"take the gloves off?"

i don't think the end justifies the means. i would rather live with honor than take a course of action that guarantees victory without honor. that is no victory at all.

i would rather adhere to my will, my choice, my values, and as a result, go down in flames, than relinquish those values in order to "win."

win what?

i do not wish to become like the enemy - as it seems the US policies dictate.

Nice of you to fly by Bird. I will soon be going 'round that area too. Sorry, can't help to be vague.

banning Christmas?

- Is not too far from reality. If "Natural Selection" is what is being thought in schools already, then what do we need Xmas for?, To feel good?

consumerism?

- When was the last time we visited Wal-Mart?

courage and bravery?

- Why is the local school board putting pressure on the "straight A" student to attend "special" sessions to improve their already high scores, while the other students are rotting away? Is the school concerned with looking good at whatever cost?

we vote for the enemy?

- We went to school with them, they chose law for a career, the money was good, but not enough, so they went for the "big one" becoming judge. Now we are enemies because personal agenda, intimidation and other items have priority over common sense.

what is everyone babbling about here?

- I think that some agree and some disagree with my thoughts.

have i totally lost it? i cannot tell if i agree or disagree with comments - eveyrthing seems nonspecific and illusory.

- Either is fine, I think. Nonspecific and illusory, I could not have found those words on my own, so I'll use yours, that is exactly the way of life in America, problem is that when it hits the fan, what we do best is point fingers and fail to recognize on "how did we get here"

price to pay for the inconvenience of travel? monetary or ...?

- If there is anyone willing to pay to be harassed, touched and not have the right to protest , please write to me. Please note that the fee is non-refundable.

why does a RT ticket from the US to Thailand cost more than a RT ticket from Thailand to US?

- Shop around, well, you should not have to pay anything, you can fly.

- As long as we think that we are better than the rest of the world, we are on the wrong path. So I totally agree with you.

There will be no victory here, certainly no honor, but we could win if we could just stop trying to make everyone happy, by law that is.
I am sure you heard the phrase "Only in America", what it really means is, "Only we are so full of ourselves that we dare to try that".
Freedom is not chaos, freedom?, there is not such a thing. And to agree with natural selection I will say that on all animal species (for those who think we, err!, they are) there must be a leader and there are rules to be followed… Actually a more vague and simplistic phrase. "Every action has a reaction"

i jes flew this week and was ravaged and voilated by annoying, rude and "fresh" security guards, bag checks and more...

good thing i stuck chapstick vial in my suitcase that got checked in, cuz ya know, it could be PLASTIQUE Explosives.. that i apply to my lips... (i like the sheen)

it sucks. but it's temporary, just like most of America's attention span tho., and that's what freaks me out even more.

this is all temporary. then back to laziness we all slide. All the while terrorist groups/factions/whatever we're supposed to call them this week sit back and take REALLY GOOD NOTES on who's reacting HOW across the world... always plannin their next science experiment with us rats.

oi vey.

on a brighter note, thanks for stopping by my fuzziechadsrule site... that mindless dribble is much easier to tolerate than traveling right now or much you'll see on the news...

whimper.

hi Q. stay safe out there.

re: airport security threats, etc ... our biggest target is indeed our bottom (ie $) line. no liquids in the cabin? i can't help but think measures like that will have an economic impact, but security-safety comes at a price, yes?

makes me wonder what all the hype is about, sorta. El Al (sp?) airlines - the israeli airline - has had strict security measures such as this since at least the early 80s, possibly b4.

we seen so closed into our own private boxes - we fail to realize this is life for many around the world and has been for almost a lifetime.

yes indeed, all this is a sign of the times.
