Human Nature and Materialism
A few items that I live with but can also live without
Happy Children running around a yard
The smell of hot dirt being sprinkled by a summer rain while having a cold beer
The aroma of a fine aged cigar
The taste of a single malt while sitting outside in 55° weather
Cruising down the road at 135 mph
A medium well Rib-Eye with veggies
The real accomplishment of a day’s work (not the sense of)
People thanking you for lending an uninterested hand
Watching a musical or a theater performance
Talented People
Motivating others
Saving Lives
Learning to speak in silence and listening
Expression of self without fear
Knowing what you want in life
Welcoming Friends
Saying goodbye to "buddies"
Telling someone "FOFF"
Sleeping 12 hours
Playing poker, dominoes or mahjong
Walking in the mountains, canoeing, outdoor living
Simplicity
Sincerity
Selfishness
Survival
Summer
Spring
Service
Self Reflection
Daydreaming
Not knowing what other things out there may bring pleasure
Happiness is whatever makes you happy

the best tired: day of extreme physical challenge, punctuated with accomplishment, whether work or play; then... great meal, good drink, night night in crisp sheets and cool breeze.
great problem: lock on cattle gate is frozen. use car cigarette lighter to warm enough to turn key. congratulate self on being "mountain worthy". smile and roll down to black water.
definintion of relief: thinking you hear a hammer hitting nail...damn if that dont sound like construction....
...turns out to be a pilated woodpecker, big as a duck, tapping a dying virginia pine.
GN, Thanks for walking south to visit.
I can smell the cotton sheets after they hanged out to dry in the sun.
Love the thought of walking to the Rubicon and turning the ignition to warm it up. I sit there to smell the neatly kept interior. Turn the radio on and Pink is playing Wish You Were Here. I finish the song and oops! late for work. Again.
I thik self expression without fear is the best one on the list.
Bogs, Danke, for the heads up.
I am some people some times though.
Michelle,
Thanks for being curious and stopping by. I'm not always appropiate in my comments, but I try. Just want to be a citizen of blogland, not of hateland.
